FAQ

CS refers to Composite Score and its made of different Profile Components, CAT Performance, GDPI Performance etc. It’s calculated as per official CS calculation criteria of each Institution. Institutions use this CS to evaluate candidates perfomance among available pool of candidates before making decision for GDPI Calls/Admission Offer.

Minimum CAT Percentile above refers to Minimum CAT percentile of any candidate who got admission offer. You need to note that your CAT score is not the sole determining factor during Admission, Your academic Profile, Achievements, Workex and Performance in GDPI influences your final CS considered for Admission.

It depends on Institutions admission criteria. Some Institutions use CS based shortlisting for their WAT-PI round while some Institutions shortlist candidates subject to fulfilling of set sectional and CAT percentile cutoffs by them.

Each Institution Independently decide their own Admission criteria each year and based on it they proceed with GDPI calls and final Admission Offers.

Yes, Candidates need to file separate Applications each year to be considered eligible for Admissions. Do note that they might have an eligibility criteria, go through it before filling your Application.

Eligiblity cutoffs are the sectional and total CAT percentile cutoffs that a candidate needs to cross to become eligible for further considerations. Some institutions don’t have CS based GDPI shortlisting, they choose candidates for PI based on Eligibility cutoffs. (There are other conditions to be fulfilled by any candidate to be eligible for GDPI considerations and failing to fulfil them might result in disqualification)

  1. Hi brother,

    Thank you for sharing this.

I had a doubt why minimum composite score for final admission offer is same for ews/obc and st/sc/pwd categories. Is that means the CS score is just cutoff for offering admission and not the ideal candidate who really got offered the admission with that CS score?

    1. Hi Srikant, hope you are doing great. Kindly note that CS cutoffs for admission offer denotes the absolute minimum CS with which any candidate got his/her admission offer for PGP 23-25. I hope this clears your query, write back if you need more help. 👍

  2. Sritam pradhan

How to calculate the composite score to get admission offer you havent provided that please give us some data how to calculate cs score after shortlisting for pi

    1. Kindly Refer to official Admission Criteria or Policy document for PGP 2024-26 from the official website of each Institution to see their criteria and with availability of relevant details you can calculate your CS. Thanks 👍

        1. I think they have probably removed it from their website or currently making changes as per PGP 2024-26 requirements. After they make it available to users, Users can find it on their website under MBA admissions section. Thanks

    1. Hi Sritam, IIT Madras takes your overall CAT 2023 score/percentile into consideration for short listing of candidates for PI. I hope this clears your query. Write back if you need more help. Thanks 👍

  3. I wanted to ask based on this data 190 students were offered admission in general but there are only 29 seats so like how is it possible like I know there are many students who get offer don’t join but only 20% joined of the admission office could pls clarify

    1. Nice to hear from you, based on their own assessment each institution gives buffer calls right from the first merit list. This is done in order to fill or admit selected/eligible candidates ASAP. Due to these buffer calls you see 190 total offers for just 29 seats. Amount of buffer calls varies from institutions to institutions, for example IIM Ahmedabad is known to give next to none or very small in terms of buffer calls due to their coveted seats. Sometimes, these buffer calls hurts institutions as if they expected only 20 students to except out of their 100 calls but if for some reason 22 people except their offer then they either extend their admission to those extra 2 candidates for next session or take them in in the current one. Same happened at IIM Raipur last year, due to buffer mismatch some students got extended offer which they can avail if needed for next year. I hope this clears your query, write back if you need more help. Thanks 👍

          1. So for eg my cs is 35.12 without Pi in Ews category so can I convert (as previous year was 31.74)kindly answer it will be big help

  4. Hi sir I did Cs calculating from this website I got around with average Pi score is 37.609 and cut off is 31.747 is there chance as it is my best all and if u have any idea how much can Cs score increase compared to previous will help gain a new perspective thanks brother ☺️

      1. Hi Jasmair, hope you are doing well. I am not able to completely understand your query here, kindly write back with a liitle more detail and I will be happy to help. Thanks 👍

        1. Hi For the above example if I get 37.609 cs including all weight of 10th ,12 th and cat score and the cut off is 31.747 (from the previous year Rti)is it possible to convert also is it possible to predict the new cs or how much it can increase compared to previous years

          1. Seems highly likely for you to convert. Can’t say anything about future cutoffs since it depends on the quality and number of applicants each year. I hope this clears your query. 👍

  5. Hi sir,
My cs is 39.44 and without the pi and I’m a sc candidate. So what are the chances of me converting

        1. Can’t say for sure but this time they have released their results little early and most of the other top institutions are still in line including CAP colleges. With other IIMs releasing their results, candidates might leave offer from Madras leading to waitlist movement.
Let’s wait for CAP and other IIMs results and see what happens. Good luck 👍

  6. Hi just now the result are out waiting list no is 33 for EWS but for previous year it was only 2 is there still any chance?

    1. Same Reply as above: Can’t say for sure but this time they have released their results little early and most of the other top institutions are still in line including CAP colleges. With other IIMs releasing their results, candidates might leave offer from Madras leading to waitlist movement.
