FAQ

CS refers to Composite Score and its made of different Profile Components, CAT Performance, GDPI Performance etc. It’s calculated as per official CS calculation criteria of each Institution. Institutions use this CS to evaluate candidates perfomance among available pool of candidates before making decision for GDPI Calls/Admission Offer.

Minimum CAT Percentile above refers to Minimum CAT percentile of any candidate who got admission offer. You need to note that your CAT score is not the sole determining factor during Admission, Your academic Profile, Achievements, Workex and Performance in GDPI influences your final CS considered for Admission.

It depends on Institutions admission criteria. Some Institutions use CS based shortlisting for their WAT-PI round while some Institutions shortlist candidates subject to fulfilling of set sectional and CAT percentile cutoffs by them.

Each Institution Independently decide their own Admission criteria each year and based on it they proceed with GDPI calls and final Admission Offers.

Yes, Candidates need to file separate Applications each year to be considered eligible for Admissions. Do note that they might have an eligibility criteria, go through it before filling your Application.

Eligiblity cutoffs are the sectional and total CAT percentile cutoffs that a candidate needs to cross to become eligible for further considerations. Some institutions don’t have CS based GDPI shortlisting, they choose candidates for PI based on Eligibility cutoffs. (There are other conditions to be fulfilled by any candidate to be eligible for GDPI considerations and failing to fulfil them might result in disqualification)

    1. Hi iim buddy how iim sambhalpur cut off increased so much as compared to previous year for ews category i mean that yhere was no waitlist score it is almost getting 20 marks out of 25 if u ge 94 percentile how ?? Is the rri correct plzz address my concern

      1. Hi Jatin, Rest assured regarding consistency of data. It has been rechecked to minimise any typing error. Now, regarding increase in EWS cutoffs. As compared to 22-24 there was an increase of 6 points in EWS cutoffs, and that was expected as with time competition increases and it provides institutions with better quality applications and hence higher cutoffs. I hope this clears your query. Write back if you need more help. Thanks 👍

  1. Can u tell me the highest cat score which iim sambhalpur use in order to calculate composite score for example if in 2022 someone score 48 which is 90 percentile roughly and 48 /132 so it is almost 10.9 even i get 12 marks in profile plus so it is equal to 21 roughly and non eng plus 5 marks more so its overall is 26 even then i need 17 marks out 20 to get sambhalpur according to ur rti meanwhile iim udaipur which is top iim in cap i only need 10 out 15 how ??

    1. According to PGP 23-25, highest score of any candidate considered for IIM Indore PI was near 160. There is no clear availability of data regarding highest cat score among CAP candidates. Do note that each institution has their own CS criteria and depending upon the weights they give to profile components a candidates performance gets affected. Comparing criteria of one institution with the other is probably not a good idea. I would suggest, keep working hard for your PI to maximise your PI performance and convert chances. Thanks 👍

      1. Hi,
IIMbuddy there is nothing mentioned about non-engineers getting an extra 5 marks it is only mentioned that females will get 15 and males will get 0 this is mentioned on their official document for this year. Are there any other criteria that the above comment is talking about?
