FAQ

CS refers to Composite Score and its made of different Profile Components, CAT Performance, GDPI Performance etc. It’s calculated as per official CS calculation criteria of each Institution. Institutions use this CS to evaluate candidates perfomance among available pool of candidates before making decision for GDPI Calls/Admission Offer.

Minimum CAT Percentile above refers to Minimum CAT percentile of any candidate who got admission offer. You need to note that your CAT score is not the sole determining factor during Admission, Your academic Profile, Achievements, Workex and Performance in GDPI influences your final CS considered for Admission.

It depends on Institutions admission criteria. Some Institutions use CS based shortlisting for their WAT-PI round while some Institutions shortlist candidates subject to fulfilling of set sectional and CAT percentile cutoffs by them.

Each Institution Independently decide their own Admission criteria each year and based on it they proceed with GDPI calls and final Admission Offers.

Yes, Candidates need to file separate Applications each year to be considered eligible for Admissions. Do note that they might have an eligibility criteria, go through it before filling your Application.

Eligiblity cutoffs are the sectional and total CAT percentile cutoffs that a candidate needs to cross to become eligible for further considerations. Some institutions don’t have CS based GDPI shortlisting, they choose candidates for PI based on Eligibility cutoffs. (There are other conditions to be fulfilled by any candidate to be eligible for GDPI considerations and failing to fulfil them might result in disqualification)

    1. Hi IIMbuddy,I am getting CS 59.196/80 belongs yo NC-Obc. Do i have a chance of shortlisting for PI.If i shortlist do i have chances of converting it?
      Thanks in advance.

    2. Hi IIM Buddy, I have a CS of 49.9 in General category. Can I expect a call from Kashipur for PI?

    1. Hi Jay, Hope you are doing great. You might get a call for PI, since cutoffs arent out yet. Right now I dont have PGP 23-25 cutoofs in hand, you can write back in a few days to get an update. And Its always better to be prepared for GDPI to maximise your converts chances. You can also look into applying at IITs to further maximise your chances. I hope this clears your query, write back if you need more help.👍

  1. At what composite score can a Gen candidate recieve interview call?My composite score is 46.5 out of 80

    1. Nice to hear from you, I am about to recive some data that would help in this regard. Stay tuned in and you will find it under IIM Kashipur PGP 23-25 on Navigation Index. Thanks

        1. I am expecting official statistics soon, It will be available as soon as I recieve it. Thanks for reaching out, write back if you have more queries. 👍

  2. I’m getting 59.8 as my CS out of 80. I belong to OBC category. Do I have good chance to convert given if by chance my PI goes average?
Also I have zero knowledge on programming languages and non tech background, but I have interest to pursue analytics , will that be a setback and difficult to compete with tech background students during the course?
Please help out, I’m in dilemma to fill or not to fill the application.

    1. You have pretty good chances considering you perform well in PI. Now moving to your next query, One thing I would suggest is dont just get into any course or program just for the sake of IIM tag. Ultimately its the candidate who needs to work hard to for next two years and then practise it for rest of his/her working life. See if the program interests you, learn more about the courses you will study in those two years and it will help you make an informed decision. Regarding no experience with Programming etc, these things dont matter a lot since they have made programs to get non engineers acquainted with required skills. Do your own research before making decisions on IIM Applications (If I remember correctly, There was a video on Youtube channel of IIM Kashipur where they have explained situations like yours in detail. You can refer to it to learn specific details and how a non engineer can get along in Analytics at IIM Kashipur). Write back if you need more help, Thanks. 👍

  3. Hi iim buddy i wanted to ask if they calculate composite score out of 80 or will they convert it out of 100 as here in rti data highest composite score is in 90’s but on website of iim kashipur composite score calculator is out of 80. I have 60/80 (GEM) can you please clarify my doubt.

    1. Hi Krish, hope you are doing great. Please note that highest composite score refers to the highest CS of any candidate with final admission offer. You are referring to Shortlist score which is used by institutions to select candidates for PI, after which an additional 20 is added to short list score based on your actual PI performance making the complete CS sum of 100. I hope this clears your query, write back if you need more help. Thanks 👍

      1. So should I apply or not at 60/80? If the final CS cutoff here is 60.xx which includes pi score as then i guess it gives me a decent chance ?

  4. Can you elaborate how to calculate the component “Qualifying exam score” ?
    QE = CAT percentile*20
I am unable to understand this.

    1. Hi Vishal, Refer to official Criteria and as stated in it , your current (CAT overall Percentile x 20). I hope this clears your query. Write back if you need more help. Thanks 👍

  5. Hello team,
I got a cs score of 60.69 out of 80 according to the latest criteria,
and the rti data from 2023 says i need 63.5(general) for a PI call.
Can you please help me in understanding if this is the one required for getting a PI call or is it the cutoff for final admission offer!

    1. Nice to hear from you, please note that data for PGP 23-25 isn’t available yet. You can expect it to be available in a week, So stay tuned in and keep checking Navigation Index for Kashipur BA 23-25 stats. Thanks

    1. If finance is not an issue then you can give it a chance keeping your expectations under control. Prepare well for PI and look into other options from IITs,NITs etc to be safe in case you dont get what you wanted. I hope this clears your query, Thanks. 👍

  6. I’m getting 23.15 CS SCORE without interview is there any chances for me to convert any IIM (ST category)

    1. Nice to hear from you, With a profile as above I would say a Nice PI performance can get you a convert from your available lists of calls. You can also look into IITs and NITs to further improve your convert chances. I hope this helps, write back if you have more queries. Thanks 👍

  7. Hey IIM Buddy,
I have 65.39/80 as CS from EWS Category. Can you please tell me chance of getting PI call and my conversion chance.

  8. Hi, thanks for information.

    I’m getting 57.5/80 GEM candidate.Should I apply,what are the chances of converting .

    Please reply, thanks.

    1. Hi Aman, considering latest cutoffs for PGP 23-25 that is around 65 and it seems unlikely that it would move 8-10 points in your favour. This was my personal evaluation. Kindly do your own research before making decisions on application. Thanks again 👍

      1. according to this criteria, doesn’t it make GEM freshers ineligible for the program?
coz even if they score 100 % max composite score possible is 60.

          1. Hi, I have a composite score of 58.66 ,nc-OBC and my work experience is 36 months 8 days ,so will they be considering it 36 month or 37 month and also if a person has some knowledge and certification regarding this Analyst , will it increase the chance of getting selected

          2. Hi Bhargav, hope you are doing well. Regarding certifications etc, yes it might increase your chances of converts but not through additional scores rather it can help gain more traction in your PI and get few extra points in it. Regarding workex, I am not sure. But if I take a guess , I would say a 37 since it’s more than 36.
I hope this clears your query, Thanks👍
