FAQ

CS refers to Composite Score and its made of different Profile Components, CAT Performance, GDPI Performance etc. It’s calculated as per official CS calculation criteria of each Institution. Institutions use this CS to evaluate candidates perfomance among available pool of candidates before making decision for GDPI Calls/Admission Offer.

Minimum CAT Percentile above refers to Minimum CAT percentile of any candidate who got admission offer. You need to note that your CAT score is not the sole determining factor during Admission, Your academic Profile, Achievements, Workex and Performance in GDPI influences your final CS considered for Admission.

It depends on Institutions admission criteria. Some Institutions use CS based shortlisting for their WAT-PI round while some Institutions shortlist candidates subject to fulfilling of set sectional and CAT percentile cutoffs by them.

Each Institution Independently decide their own Admission criteria each year and based on it they proceed with GDPI calls and final Admission Offers.

Yes, Candidates need to file separate Applications each year to be considered eligible for Admissions. Do note that they might have an eligibility criteria, go through it before filling your Application.

Eligiblity cutoffs are the sectional and total CAT percentile cutoffs that a candidate needs to cross to become eligible for further considerations. Some institutions don’t have CS based GDPI shortlisting, they choose candidates for PI based on Eligibility cutoffs. (There are other conditions to be fulfilled by any candidate to be eligible for GDPI considerations and failing to fulfil them might result in disqualification)

Hi! Final selection cutoff for PGP 22-24 was 48.684 and PGP 23-25 was 51.812. Any idea why it increased last year? (Considering CAT 2022 was tougher than CAT 2021, cutoff should have reduced by 2-2.5 marks but instead it increased by 3 marks). Does it mean that the performances in WATPI was significantly better by PGP 23-25 candidates?

      1. Hi Vijay, nice to hear from you. We are well aware of the fact that they use multiple CS components including academic profile of candidates, CAT score, GDPI performance, Workex etc dring final CS calculation based on which they give admission offers to candidates. Although CAT has gotten difficult with each subsequent year but at the same time number of applicants pool have been increasing. This results in more candidates availability to institutions at any particular score which pushes cutoffs to the higher side due to competitive scores in CAT and past academics. Earlier a 9/9 (85.5 in case of cbse) was respectable enough to get a Call for PI but because of large candidate pool this has now moved to 90+ in past academic 10/12 to get a call.
To summarise, expect a rise in CS cutoffs for final admission offer as it has been seen since couple of years. Do prepare well for your GDPI to maximise your performance and convert chances. I hope this helps, write back if you need more help 👍

Thanks for the reply. I guess you’re right. Competition is crazy. Anyway, do you have data for number of candidates to whom admission offer was given by IIM-Calcutta for PGP 23-25? You provided this data for PGP 22-24 but it’s not available here..

          1. Glad it helped. Regarding total offers stats, I have requested them multiple times but no data regarding waitlist, minimum percentile etc. I would put a new request and wait for their response. Thanks 👍

    1. In some cases it refers to their admission cutoffs for various categories and in some cases it points minimum CS with which they got an offer. 👍

  1. Is the CS Cutoff for admission offer mentioned in data above, considers WAT/PI etc also or does it consider only the AR and CAT scores used for shortlisting for WAT/PI?
