FAQ

CS refers to Composite Score and its made of different Profile Components, CAT Performance, GDPI Performance etc. It’s calculated as per official CS calculation criteria of each Institution. Institutions use this CS to evaluate candidates perfomance among available pool of candidates before making decision for GDPI Calls/Admission Offer.

Minimum CAT Percentile above refers to Minimum CAT percentile of any candidate who got admission offer. You need to note that your CAT score is not the sole determining factor during Admission, Your academic Profile, Achievements, Workex and Performance in GDPI influences your final CS considered for Admission.

It depends on Institutions admission criteria. Some Institutions use CS based shortlisting for their WAT-PI round while some Institutions shortlist candidates subject to fulfilling of set sectional and CAT percentile cutoffs by them.

Each Institution Independently decide their own Admission criteria each year and based on it they proceed with GDPI calls and final Admission Offers.

Yes, Candidates need to file separate Applications each year to be considered eligible for Admissions. Do note that they might have an eligibility criteria, go through it before filling your Application.

Eligiblity cutoffs are the sectional and total CAT percentile cutoffs that a candidate needs to cross to become eligible for further considerations. Some institutions don’t have CS based GDPI shortlisting, they choose candidates for PI based on Eligibility cutoffs. (There are other conditions to be fulfilled by any candidate to be eligible for GDPI considerations and failing to fulfil them might result in disqualification)

    1. General Non Engineer Female
      10 – 76%
      12 – 72%
      Grad (BA Eco & Advertising) 2023 – 73%
Work Experience (Till July’24) – 11 months (Google – Marketing Associate)
Even though i know there are nil chances but if there are what should be the target percentile?

      1. Please refer to our CS Calculator page. Play around with numbers and see what maximises your chances. And its free, So take your time and explore. Thanks 👍

  1. Hi sir,
I would like to know what at percentile will it be safe for me get a call from IIM A
    details –
Non -eng / Sc / Male
    10 – 72.71%
    12- 86.4%
    Grad – B.com 71.53 %
    work ex – 0

    1. Nice to hear from you, Considering your academic profile as above and category you can expect most of the calls at CAT percentile at or above 98. With a nice GDPI performance you can expect converts too. But you need o keep in mind that the emission process is very dynamic and competitive these days, considering you as a CAT 2024 aspirant you should work towards maximising your CAT score. I hope this helps, write back if you have more queries.

  2. Hello sir,
I would like to know what percentile would be safe for me if I want to get into IIMA.

    My stats-
    General/Non eng/Male
    10-9.6 CGPA
12-96.8% in Science (Best of 5)
    MBBS – 62%
    Work experience – 1 year

    1. Hi Ashish, Hope you are doing well. With your profile as above, a CAT percentile at or above 99.5 can mmaximise your GDPI calls. If possible try adding 8-10 months of workex more to your profile, It will further improve your calls chances. Thanks 👍

  3. Hey iim buddy what will be the maxium cat pool score any idea plzzz if u can’t tell exact figure plzz tell range
    Plzzz reply ASAP

    1. Hi Nilesh, For PGP 23-25 the number you are looking for is 160.48 and for PGP 24-26 relevant statistics will be available once institutions successfully conclude their admissions for PGP 24-26 but if we take a guess, I think it should be around 160-170. Thanks

  4. Hi, the class composition is 187 general candidates and the total general candidates with admission offer is 197. Then shouldn’t the waitlist movement be 10? Why does it say 1 in the table.

    1. This 197 refers to all admission offers containing both Prime Offers (Merit offers) and Waitlist offers. If someone receives a waitlist offer then they don’t necessarily end up with a final admission offer. This is the reason why you see a class composition of 187 where total offers made (waitlist+Merit) equals 197 with only one movement. I hope this clears your query. Thanks 👍

  5. The IIM A shortlist data for CAT 2023 shown on their website mentions the CS calculation requires CAT score divided by 198. is it the maximum score people scored in CAT 2023, or is it something else?

  6. Is the “CS cutoff for Admission offer” the Final Composite Score (taking WAT, PI, CAT score etc all into account), or is it the same as CS which is calculated for shortlisting for WAT/PI?

    1. Hi Udit, hope you are doing well. With an academic profile as above I think a percentile above 99.5 is what you need for the trio. If not from A, a 99.5+ will get you call from other BLACKIS. Dont think about these things right now, Just focus on maximising your score and you will do great. Thanks 👍

  7. Why are there so few seats for EWS candidates at IIMA? It is not even 3% of the class composition. Also please explain EWS waitlist movement and final composition.

    1. Don’t know the reason for them not having full quota seats for EWS (Reach out to them for a detailed reply). Regarding waitlist movement for EWS, Almost none in terms of movement. People only leave their offer if they get something better and chances of it happening is really low. For EWS Movement was total of 3 for PGP 2023-25. I hope this clears your quey. Thanks 👍

      1. It is mentioned that 12 admission offers were made, waitlist movement was 3 and final class composition was 9. Does that mean initially 9 offers were made and 3 from waitlist moved to get the offer. That way it adds to 12 offers. Please clarify.

      2. In EWS category 12 admission offers were made and waitlist movement was 3. Final class composition was 9. Does that mean initially 9 offers were made and later waitlist moved by 3 and it adds to 12 offers?

  8. Hello, I am on waitlist with no. 8 for IIM Ahmedabad under sc category. Will it convert? If yes, in which waitlist it would convert and when can I expect the waitlists to release??

    1. Waitlist depends on others leaving their offers and nothing can be said about it. Usually it moves 1-2 days after the last date of offer acceptance fee payment for the offer made earlier. Thanks👍

        1. They didn’t provide the dates and reaching out to them for the same and then publishing it would take atleast 20-30 days. By then things would anyways get cleared. Thanks 👍

  9. Hi Sir
I wanted to know what percentile i should aim for to get a call (and potential convert) from IIMA/IIMB.
