FAQ

CS refers to Composite Score and its made of different Profile Components, CAT Performance, GDPI Performance etc. It’s calculated as per official CS calculation criteria of each Institution. Institutions use this CS to evaluate candidates perfomance among available pool of candidates before making decision for GDPI Calls/Admission Offer.

Minimum CAT Percentile above refers to Minimum CAT percentile of any candidate who got admission offer. You need to note that your CAT score is not the sole determining factor during Admission, Your academic Profile, Achievements, Workex and Performance in GDPI influences your final CS considered for Admission.

It depends on Institutions admission criteria. Some Institutions use CS based shortlisting for their WAT-PI round while some Institutions shortlist candidates subject to fulfilling of set sectional and CAT percentile cutoffs by them.

Each Institution Independently decide their own Admission criteria each year and based on it they proceed with GDPI calls and final Admission Offers.

Yes, Candidates need to file separate Applications each year to be considered eligible for Admissions. Do note that they might have an eligibility criteria, go through it before filling your Application.

Eligiblity cutoffs are the sectional and total CAT percentile cutoffs that a candidate needs to cross to become eligible for further considerations. Some institutions don’t have CS based GDPI shortlisting, they choose candidates for PI based on Eligibility cutoffs. (There are other conditions to be fulfilled by any candidate to be eligible for GDPI considerations and failing to fulfil them might result in disqualification)

What are the chances , like is there even a chance to convert any baby or New IIM? Be brutally honest

    1. Hope you are doing well, Yes you can expect converts. From IIM Ranchi it seems little difficult, Sirmaur and additional programs at GEN 3 IIMs seems probable. Thanks 👍

      1. Hi Dheeraj, hope you are doing well. Right now with profile as above it seems little difficult if you are aiming for IIM U T R . Rest you can convert with a good PI performance. And an extensive PI doesn’t necessarily mean that you didn’t perform well. Sometimes they want to test how you act under pressure.
For more detailed insights, you can refer to our CS calculator Page. Thanks 👍

    UG – 81.30

Will I be able to convert any good CAP college or IIT KGP/Madras?

I have calculated the CS by myself and in your portal as well but I would like to know your take.

    Thanks

    1. Hi Utkarsh, hope you are doing well. You have a nice overall profile especially your workex numbers and I think you can expect CAP converts considering your PI went well. IIT Madras would be relatively easier. Thanks👍

        1. Sometimes they also don’t give calls to people who they think won’t join them. If someone has a good CAT score and a balanced academic profile might get waitlisted in some colleges as they always want to minimize buffer calls and waitlist movement. (People with 99+ were waitlisted in Roorkee last year and candidates with 90-92 were in the merit list).
Don’t get disheartened, it’s part of the process and you have a good overall profile you will get CAP colleges. Thanks 👍

          1. I am with you for this information.
But as they have our CAT scores, they can see my sectional percentile is very weak in LRDI,
Then also if they think that I won’t join or I have better calls, or I will just ditch an IIT like anything
then it should be their problem,
even after a balanced score, good acads, and decent work ex they have rejected me but I know a person with 79%ile got convert
then how is this admission justified, the basic criteria is an aptitude test which I have better marks than the others, but they are selected and I am not even waitlisted

I know I am just saying some random rants here, but this is how people with good overall profile feels if they get direct reject without any clarification.

            Still thanks a lot
Hoping to get a better call from CAP or IIT Kgp

        1. Hi Utkarsha, hope you are doing well. Kashipur seems like a probable convert in the upcomming lists. For the rest, Kindly refer to the previous waitlist movement stats for refference. Although movements each year are very dynamic in nature and varies from previous years but looking at past trends would help you gain some insights about what to expect. I hope this clears your query. Thanks 👍

          1. It should be a probable convert, What I know is, Spot rounds are done by some institutions and its the last round in terms of offering admissions to waitlisted and interested candidates to fill their seats. You can expect it to happen in June last week or even after that. It depends on the offers withdrawn by selected candidates. 👍

    1. Hi Anwesha, hope you are doing well. With profile as above a merit convert might be difficult, but you can expect a waitlist offer. Results are just about to be released in 5-7 days, Lets hope for the best. Thanks 👍

    1. Hi Gautam, hope you are doing well. Grilling doesnt necessarily mean that your PI didnt go well. You can expect converts in the merit offer from Baby IIMs, in case of New IIMs you might get waitlisted. Lets hope for the best 👍

    Interview went well

What are my chances of convert?

    1. Yes, you can expect converts but to me it seems like your Acads might act as a drag and being a GEM you might get waitlisted before converting it. Your workex is adding great value. Lets hope for the best, Results are just around the corner. Thanks👍

    1. Hi, hope you are doing well. Your workex is a great addition overall and I think you have a pretty good chances of getting a convert if your PI went well. Thanks 👍

  4. Sir, what is the final waitlist number for admission into IIM MBA Ranchi during 2023 for SC Category woman

    1. IIM Ranchi takes little longer than usual to reply and sometimes they dont reply at all. Thats the reason HR and BA are missing. Thanks👍

    1. Hi Sankalp, hope you are doing well. IIM Ranchi takes little longer than usual to reply and sometimes they dont reply at all. Thats the reason HR is unavailable.

  5. IIM TRICHY (WL)

    IIM SIRMAUR (Waiting List)
    IIT DHANBAD (CONVERTED)
    IIT Jodhpur (Waiting)

    *Category NC OBC*

I have already paid 125000 for IIT Dhanbad and today is the last date to withdrawal the amount.
    Should I withdraw or not?

After 5pm if I withdraw the amount then they will give only 23000 only

    1. Hi Subham, first of all these are my personal thoughts and you should do your own research, talk to parents or mentors before making any decision. An EOI doesn’t necessarily means a convert and since you don’t have any convert in hand other than Dhanbad it probably won’t be a wise decision to withdraw if you don’t want to take a drop and join in for MBA this year only. But if you have plans for drop, then you can wait and let the waitlist movement play itself out and see what you get. In that case if you don’t get anything, you were already in for drop but if you do get an IIM then you can join it.
Do your own research and see what best aligns with your future goals. Good luck 👍

  6. Ranchi MBA – SC WL 262
Kashipur MBA – SC WL 474
Will the waitlist move as much to get me admission offer in either of them, as per the previous waitlist trends?

    1. Hi, hope you are doing well. Kindly note that specific numbers aren’t available for Ranchi but you can take look at past waitlist trends from Kashipur 2023-25 for reference. Thanks 👍
